Dorothy A. "Dottie" Varano Dorothy A. "Dottie" (Dallengra) Varano, 77, died Saturday, February 2, 2008 in Bridgewater under the care of hospice and her family. She was the wife of the late Benedetto Varano. Born August 22, 1930 she was the daughter of the late Paul Dellengra and Jennie (Abati) Dallengra. She was a lifelong Brockton resident. She worked on the Consumer Advisory Board under the late Mayor David E. Crosby and also as an Ombudsman for the City of Brockton for several other Mayors. In 2003 Dorothy won the Female Champion of the City Award for her outstanding service she provided to the citizens of Brockton. She served on the Council on Aging Board and served as Treasurer for Friends of the Council on Aging for many years. Dorothy was a communicant of St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Bridgewater. She is survived by her children, Donna Cormier of Bridgewater and Michael Varano and his wife Lisa of Brockton; her grandchildren, Nicole Cormier of Boston, Bobby and Benjamin Cormier both of Bridgewater, Shane, Nico, and Gabriella Varano all of Brockton; her siblings, William Pincolini and his wife Anita and Charles Pincolini and his wife Landa all of Bridgewater, her sister in law, Janice Kelleher of Brockton. She was the sister of the late Gladys Balboni. Funeral Information Funeral from the Russell Pica Funeral Home on Thursday, February 7th at 8:00AM thence to St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 103 Center St., Bridgewater where a funeral mass will be celebrated for the repose of her soul at 9:00AM.
