Douglas Richard Joyner, 51 was born in Stoughton, MA and lived most of his life in Brockton, MA. He passed away unexpectedly from this life in Sneed, Alabama on Thursday, April 21, 2022.
Dougie was a loving and kind husband and he loved all of his children and grandchildren. He was known for his big laugh and his goofy, jokester spirit. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to someone in need. If he did not know how to fix something, he was an attentive student and a quick learner. He had a handsome, ready smile and the biggest of hearts. He was a hard worker in the many, varied jobs he undertook across his lifetime, whether in construction or landscaping or other endeavors.
Son of the late Sylvia Silva Gooden, Dougie is also predeceased by his father Freeman Gregory, brother Gary Gregory and his niece, Juanee' Blue.
He is survived by his loving wife who shared many years with him, Jennifer Joyner; his first-born child and son Gregory Keene; his daughter Taylor Keene-Joyner; his daughter Rayne Keene; his four grandchildren – Malakhi Joyner, Avah Keene-Joyner, Hazel Jackson and Aylah Jackson; his siblings – Donna Gooden (Roger); Angela Ledger; Susan Hardnett; Charles Joyner (Margaret); Robin Joyner; Jennifer Breedy (Alvin); Dennis Watkins; Frederick Gregory (Kathleen); Leola Hollis; Kendra Gregory (Jay); Marvin Mungo; Cheryl Gregory; Vivian Gregory; Freeman Scott (Jen); Christopher Gregory; and many beloved nieces and nephews; and his in-laws, Roland and Alma Keene.
Calling hours in the Russell & Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St., (rt123) BROCKTON on Thursday from 11:00AM-1:00PM followed by a funeral service in the funeral home at 1:00PM. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Brockton.
