Obituary

Dwight Anderson Holton, 84, of Buzzards Bay MA and also North Ft. Myers, FL, formerly of Brockton and West Bridgewater passed away Friday December 15, 2023 at the Falmouth Hospital after a lengthy illness. He was the beloved husband of Marie (Ramondetta) Holton.

Born June 30, 1939 in Brockton, MA he was the son of Robert W. Holton and May (Anderson) Holton.

He was a graduate of Brockton High School Class of 1957. He received education certificates from the Lincoln Institute of New England / Northeastern University, Lowell Technical Institute and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).

He proudly served in the US Army as a Chemical and Nuclear Specialist and obtained the rank of Staff Sergeant. He was a Civil Engineer for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, obtaining the position of Assistant District Maintenance Engineer / Maintenance Operations Engineer until he retired in 1999 after forty years.

Dwight enjoyed ALL sports, especially playing golf. He achieved 2 holes in one in his retirement years. He enjoyed boating and travelling abroad. He is a 60 year Mason and member of Baalis Sanford Lodge. He sang as a member of the Galloneers. He was a member of Wareham Lodge of Elks, the VEGA club of Brockton, as well as a member of M.O.S.E.S. He also enjoyed running his business with his family called "Tina Marie's Candies" on the Cape for many years.

Dwight twice received the Spirit of Massachusetts Achievement Award given by the Commonwealth of MA as presented by the Governor for his contributions to the MA Department of Public Works and the beautification of the state highways of MA, including the Bourne / Cape Cod Rotaries.

Dwight was the beloved husband of Marie (Ramondetta) Holton for 60 years and their two children Bettina M. Holton (Daughter) and Jeffrey M. Holton (Son) and his wife Linda Holton, as well as six grandchildren Jeffrey, Joseph, Brady, twins Arabella and Jessica, and Antonio; brother-in-law of Alfred Ramondetta and Anita Poyant. He was predeceased by a brother Robert Holton, and two brothers-in-law, Rosario "Ray" Ramondetta and John Ramondetta.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 28th at 11:00AM in the Russell & Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St.(Rt.123) Brockton. Interment will follow in Melrose Cemetery, Brockton. Calling hours will be on Wednesday, December 27th from 4:00PM to 8:00PM with a Masonic Memorial Service at 7;30PM.
