Hilson of Pembroke October 25, 2002, Edith T. (Rothenhafer) 85 years. Wife of Walter E. Hilson . Mother of Mary Therese Bows-Fox of Sagamore Beach. Grandmother of Jennifer Bows and great grandmother of Skye Bows both of Sagamore Beach. Sister of the late Jack Rothenhafer.
Funeral from the J. Frank Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Tuesday 8:00 am. Funeral Mass in St. Joseph the Worker Church, 1 Maquan Street, Hanson at 9:30 am. Burial in Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne at 11:30 am. Visiting Hours Monday 2-4 & 7-9 pm. In Edith’s memory donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Assoc., 36 Cameron Ave., Cambridge, MA 02140.
Obituary
Mrs. Hilson died at the Guardian Center in Brockton on Friday after a period of failing health. Born in Syracuse, New York, a daughter of the late Henry C. and Theresa (Mott) Rothenhafer. She had been a resident of Pembroke since 1950.
Graduate of Syracuse High School and a graduate of Syracuse University St. Elizabeth’s Nursing School in Utica, NY. For many years she was employed as a supervisor in the Maternity Ward and taught Obstetrics in the Brockton Hospital.
She was a long time communicant of St. Joseph the Worker Church in Hanson. She was a member and past president of the VFW Auxiliary Post 455 in Pembroke. She also taught ceramics in a studio in her home for many years.
She is survived by her husband Walter E. Hilson , a daughter Mary Therese Bows-Fox, a granddaughter Jennifer Bows and a great granddaughter Skye Bows all of Sagamore Beach, MA Sister of the late Jack Rothenhafer
