Edward Drummond, 80 years, of Brockton, died Tuesday evening at the Weymouth Healthcare Center after a period of failing health. Born and raised in East Braintree, son of the late John and Annie (Kilmartin) Drummond. He served in WWII in the United States Army and also served in the Korean War in the United States Marine Corps. After the Korean War he returned to work at the Bethlehem Steel Shipyard as a welder where he worked for many years. He enjoyed playing the violin, was an avid reader and researcher of historical events and enjoyed the Raynham Dog Track. He was a union member of the AFLCIO.
He is survived by his niece Ruby Snell of North Weymouth and was a brother of the late John, Alexander, Robert and Charles Drummond, Agnes Driscoll, Helen Whitehouse, and Catherine McQuarrie.
Burial will be held on Friday in the Veterans Section of Melrose Cemetery.
