, of Falmouth, formerly of North Easton, Brockton, and Vero Beach, Florida died Sunday, March 16, 2008 in Falmouth. He was husband of 64 years to Elisabeth (Coufos) Jacoubs.
Born July 25, 1914 in Agathopolis, Greece, he was the son of the late Demetrios and Pandora (Couphoulos) Hadjiacovou (Jacoubs).
Dr. Jacoubs was a graduate of Lafayette College and Middlesex Medical University and established a family medical practice in North Easton for 44 years. He served as a Captain in the United States Army Medical Corps, First Calvary, during the Korean Conflict and was awarded 2 Bronze Stars.
He was a charter member of the American Academy of Family Physicians and a member of the Association of Military Surgeons of the United States. He served as President of the Medical Staff at the Phaneuf and Cushing Hospitals and was on the medical staff of the Brockton Hospital.
He was a member of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church in Brockton and St. George's Greek Orthodox Church in Centerville. He enjoyed golfing and was a long time member of Thorny Lea Golf Club in Brockton.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Elisabeth (Coufos) Jacoubs; his children, Patricia Davis and her husband Ted of North Falmouth, Jean Alexis and her husband George of Marshfield, Edward Jacoubs and his wife Peri of Brockton; his grandchildren, Paul Davis and his wife Paula Jinbo, Pandora Davis and her husband Jan King, Ted Davis and his wife Heidi, Christina Beauclair and her husband John, Kosta Alexis, Louis and Nicolas Jacoubs; great grandfather of Theodore, George, Nathaniel, Hannah, and Natalie. He was the father of the late James Jacoubs.
Funeral Information
Funeral from the Russell Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St., (Rt123) Brockton on Wednesday, March 19th at 10:00AM followed by a funeral service in the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 457 Oak St., Brockton at 11:00AM. The Rev. John Kiramarios will officiate. Interment will follow in Melrose Cemetery, Brockton. Calling hours in the Russell Pica Funeral Home Tuesday 4:00-8:00PM.
