Obituary

Edward H. McCarthy, 72, died on June 26, 2023 after a brief illness. He was born and raised in Brockton, Massachusetts, the son of the late Dorothy (Stanton) McCarthy and Harold J. McCarthy. Edward attended Brockton Public Schools and Massasoit Community College.

Edward was a hard-working man who loved to build and create beautiful carpentry work. An avid golfer, he was captain of the Brockton High Golf Team and played golf at D.W.Field Golf Course in Brockton and Derryfield Country Club in Manchester, NH for many years. Ed also enjoyed following all the Boston sports teams.

Edward was predeceased by his wife Susan (Buckley) McCarthy. He is survived by his sister, Jean McCarthy, his brother and sister-in-law, Stephen and Gail McCarthy, his niece Erin Matthies and his great-nieces Avery and Adalyn. He is also survived by many cousins.

At the request of the family, funeral services will be private.
