Obituary

Edward A. Purdy, 73, of Bridgewater died unexpectedly March 27, 2011 at Boston Medical Center. He was the husband of the late Joan B. (McNamara) Purdy. Born, raised and educated in Brockton, a son of the late Albert J. and Marian (Schuster) Purdy. An avid New England sports fan, Edward was also President of the Bridgewater Golden Agers, had been a Bridgewater Little League Coach and member of the USS Albany Association.

Edward was the father of Jane Parker and her husband Richard of Brockton, Kevin Purdy of Bridgewater and the late Edward Purdy; grandfather of John and Joshua Parker; brother of Marjorie DeDoming and Lorraine Sweetman both of Florida, Joanne O’Brien-Sanchez of Brockton, Alan Purdy of Stoughton and Ronald Purdy of Avon. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visiting Hours in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont St. (Rte 123) Brockton, Thursday 4-8pm. Funeral Service in the funeral home Friday at 11:30am.
