Obituary

Eleanor (Spadea)(Rexenes) Issa Eleanor (Spadea) (Rexenes) Issa, 82, of South Easton and formerly of Brockton, died unexpectedly on Friday, October 30, 2009 while vacationing with her family in Calabria, Italy. She was the wife of the late Fred D. Issa and longtime companion of the late Frances C. "Bob" Galante. Born August 14, 1927 in Brockton, she was the daughter of the late Frank Spadea and Mildred (Ventre) Spadea. Raised in Brockton she graduated from Brockton High School in 1945. Mrs. Issa was an Office Secretary for Columbia Electric Supply in Brockton for many years before retiring in 1993. Mrs. Issa enjoyed spending time with her family, especially on her summer trips to the Cape with the Sullivan Family and her holidays in Maine. Her daughters and her grandchildren were her pride and joy and she raised her family with the same dignity and grace she governed herself with. She especially enjoyed her crossword puzzles and dining out at local restaurants. You could usually find Mrs. Issa and Mr. Galante all dressed up at their favorite hotspots like Thorny Lea Golf Club and Christo's Restaurant on the weekends. In her younger years she enjoyed modeling and managed to keep her style and flare right to the end. She was a member of the Sons of Italy and the Women's Club and countless other organizations throughout her life. Her laughter was infectious and she was always the life of the party, taking advantage of any chance she could to drop a joke and live life to its fullest. She was especially proud to attend her granddaughter Kristen's wedding in September and was the only guest to dance every single dance. The trip to Italy she had almost completed was not only attended by herself and her two daughters but by more than 20 of her nieces and nephews, all of whom commented on her running circles around them until her very last day. "Ms Ellie," as she was known to most everyone, will be sadly missed by her special friends at her home at Queset on the Pond in South Easton and her "adopted daughter" Donna Izzo. She is survived by her daughters, Dianne (Rexenes) Procida of Portland, Maine and Nancy (Rexenes) Sullivan and her husband William of Peabody; her grandchildren, Melissa Procida, Kristen (Procida) Gary, and Corey Sullivan; her sister, Gloria Adams; she is also survived by several nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews. She was the sister of the late Anthony Spadea, William Spadea, Joseph Spadea, Marion Cardillo, and Mary Martin and the sister-in-law of the late Angelina Rexenes. Funeral Information A Memorial Mass will be celebrated for the repose of her soul in Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 433 West St., Brockton on Monday, Nov. 9th at 9:00AM. Interment will be held at a later date in Calvary Cemetery, Brockton. Calling hours in the Russell Pica Funeral Home on Sunday 2:00-7:00PM.
