Obituary

Eleanor L. Reace, age 81, of Brockton, passed away at her home on Sunday, February 25, 2024. She was the wife of the late Samuel C. Reace.

Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Lucille Durham. She was a resident of Brockton for over forty years.

Ellie worked as an assembler at Johnson & Johnson for many years.

Some of her interests include going to the movies, the casinos, dog track, and gardening. She also enjoyed taking trips to the beach in Plymouth and golfing in her younger years.

Eleanor will be remembered as being a vivacious, loving, and outgoing person who was always there to lend a helping hand to someone in need. The relationships she built with her family and friends was deeply important to her and she loved them all very much.

She is survived by her son James B. Reace, Sr. of Brockton, three siblings, Nona Haynes, Rodney Durham and the late Anezia Clemens in addition to many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 7, 2024, from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm, with a funeral service beginning at 11:30 am, in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte. 123) Brockton. Interment will be held at Melrose Cemetery in the spring.
