Steinberg of Brockton, May 8, 2007, Eleanor B. (Oak) Steinberg, 91 years. Wife of the late Samuel Steinberg. Mother of the late Barbara (Oakes) Dole. Loving grandmother of Lisa Akins and Stephen Dole both of Brockton. Great grandmother of Justin, Courtney, Josh and Lindsey. Special friend of Peter Smith of Wareham.

Obituary

Eleanor B. Steinberg died at home Tuesday evening under hospice care after a brief illness. She was born in Detroit, a daughter of the late Bernard and Laura (Livinguay) Oak. She had been a resident of Brockton since 1975, formerly lived in Framingham and Newton. For many years she was a warehouse supervisor in the hardware industry and retired at the age of 75. Mrs. Steinberg enjoyed bowling; gardening and time spent with her great grandchildren.

She is survived by her grandchildren, Lisa Akins and Stephen Dole both of Brockton, her great grandchildren, Justin, Courtney, Josh and Lindsey and her special friend Peter Smith of Wareham.

She was the late wife of the late Samuel Steinberg and mother of the late Barbara (Oakes) Dole.
