Eleanor (Lifchitz) Zarrella, 89, of Brockton passed away on Tuesday, May 25, 2021 at the Good Samaritan Medical Center after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Albert J. Zarrella. Born in Brockton on June 2, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Samuel Lifchitz and Minnie (Polonsky) Lifchitz. A lifelong resident of Brockton, she was a 1949 graduate of Brockton High School. Eleanor worked at Blue Cross Blue Shield and received many awards during her time there. She was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan, devoted to her family and a very proud Nana of 15 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Eleanor is survived by her children Albert Zarrella of Mansfield and his wife Nancy Robinson of Cape Cod, Cheryl Dwyer and her husband Dave of Scituate, Joanne Zarrella and John Dennis of New Hampshire and Kenneth Zarrella and his wife Colleen of Raynham; 15 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and her sister Esther Katz of California. She was also the mother of the late James V. Zarrella and Robert J. Zarrella and sister of the late Edward Lipson and Sydney Lifchitz. Most recently, Eleanor resided at Heights Crossing Senior Living and the family would like to thank the staff for their love, care and comfort. Calling hours will be held in the Russell & Pica Funeral Home, 441 South Main St.,(Rt.28) West Bridgewater on Friday, May 28th from 10:00-11:00am followed by a service in the funeral home at 11:00am. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Brockton.
