Elisa "Ma-Lizi" Maria De Pina Santos, 87, left her earthly body on March 31st, 2024, Easter Sunday, surrounded by her loving family.

Born January 1st, 1937 to Maria "Ma-Mae" Fortes and Pedro José De Pina on the island of Brava, Cape Verde, Elisa immigrated in 1980 with her children to the United States.

They lived as a family in her beloved city of Brockton, MA, eventually settling in Berkley, MA. A nurturing and natural caregiver, Elisa cared deeply for the people around her. For over 17 years she worked as a nursing assistant at Braemore Nursing Home where she treated patients as if they were family. Then, after retiring, Elisa cared full time for her young grandkids whom she adored.

Elisa is survived by her six children Benilde Santos, Pedro Santos, Alberto Santos, Armandina Nenopoulos, Elsa Monahan, Vera-Lucia Barron, and their spouses. She is forever remembered by her sisters, Julia Dos Reis and Domingas Fortes;

her 15 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and many dear nieces and nephews. We are heartbroken Elisa is no longer here but the memories made together will sustain us forever. And while we may not be able to set the table the way she did, we will always have a seat reserved for her during the holidays. She will be forever missed. Our dear Mae.

Visitation will be held at the Russell & Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont Street, Brockton on Monday, April 8th from 4 to 7 p.m. Her mass of Christian Burial will be on Tuesday, April 9th at St. Edith Stein Catholic Church at 10 a.m. 71 East Main Street, Brockton. Interment at Melrose Cemetery,88 North Pearl Street, Brockton.
