October 7, 1954 – February 1, 2024
Elizabeth Barker-Cardoza, 69, of Brockton passed away on Thursday, February 1, 2024 at South Shore Hospital while surrounded by family.
Born October 7, 1954 in Bridgetown, Barbados, she was the daughter of Evelyn Dodson and Esther Sergeant. Elizabeth was the youngest of three girls and the third youngest of seven children. Growing up she was an avid netball player. At the age of 15 she became the first runner up for Miss Community Crown at the Drill Hall in Barbados and was featured in the local paper.
Upon relocating to the United States Elizabeth received her associate degree from Bunker Hill Community College in 1980. She dedicated her career to managing, coordinating and leading subdivisions of multiple hospitals.
Lizzie is best known for her quick wit, her fighting nature, no-nonsense attitude, and for always telling the truth. You can see her spirit in her children and especially her grandchildren. Everyone loved all of these attributes and more about Liz.
