Elizabeth A. "Betty" Doherty Elizabeth Ann "Betty" Doherty, 70, of Brockton, passed away Saturday, October 24, 2009 at her home in Brockton. Born November 27, 1938 in Brockton, she was the daughter of the late Joseph E. Doherty and Elizabeth M. (Kelliher) Doherty. A lifelong Brockton resident she graduated from Saint Patrick High School in 1956. Betty was a Secretary and worked for the Department of Public health for over 34 years. She had also previously worked for Dr. Henry Rabinowitz office in Brockton. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Lourdes Church and she enjoyed knitting, reading, and crossword puzzles. She was a member of the Brockton Library Foundation. She is survived by her sister, Gail M. Doherty of Brockton and several cousins including Patricia O'Donnell, Edward Spillane, John Spillane and their families. Funeral Information Funeral from the Russell Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St., (Rt123) Brockton on Thursday, October 29th at 8:00AM thence to Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 433 West St., Brockton where a funeral Mass will be celebrated for the repose of her soul at 9:00AM.
