Elizabeth "Lib" P. Galante, 100, formerly of West Palm Beach, Brockton and Mansfield, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 25, 2022 at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Brockton, MA. She was the beloved wife of the late Captain Edward A. Galante (BPD).

Born in Greenville, North Carolina, a true southern belle, Baptist, daughter of the late Braxton Oliver Peyton Pollard and Clyde (Heath) Pollard, the third of ten children. She graduated from Greenville High School.

Lib worked as a secretary for the gas company, secretary V at the Brockton School Department for Mr. Plouffe for 15 years, and finally secretary IV for maintenance and operations administration in Palm Beach County for 25 years before retiring at age 81.

Lib belonged to Moose Lodge and Christian Club.

She was a proud mother and is survived by her daughter Suzanne (Galante) Price and her husband Tom of Brockton, MA; adored grammie of Atty. Edward M. Galante, Jr. and his wife Susan of Fort Lauderdale, Fl., Professor Christopher F. Galante of Mansfield, MA, Brendan M. Galante and his wife Rachael of Casselberry, Fl. and Jennifer E. Southwick and her husband Michael of E. Longmeadow, MA; magnificent grammie of Meghan, Katelyn, Benjamin and Quinn Galante and Eddie Southwick; several nieces and nephews; and her granddogs Bella and Henry, whom she loved very much. Lib was also the mother of the late Edward M. Galante, Sr. and daughter in law Judith (Pileggi) Galante; the sister of the late Ethel and Mack Fleming, Lossie Bell and Elbert Moye, OP and Doris Pollard, Jasper (Red) and Lovie Pollard, Myrtle Cowan and Col. Bailey, Edward and Stella Pollard and Robert "Bobby" Pollard

Calling hours will be held in the Russell & Pica Funeral Home, 441 S. Main St., (Rt.28) West Bridgewater on Wednesday, January 4th from 9:00-10:00 AM, followed by a funeral service at 10:00 AM. Interment will be private.
