Obituary

Elizabeth (Medellin) MacGillivray, age 51, of Brockton, died July 19, 2024 at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston after a lengthy illness. She was the devoted wife for close to eleven years of Derek MacGillivray. Liz was born and raised in Brockton, a daughter of Pablo and Barbara (Melberg) Medellin.

Liz was a graduate of Southeastern Regional Vocational Technical High School in Easton. For many years, she was a bartender and server at several local restaurants including Harry’s Westgate Pub. In her free time, Liz enjoyed sitting out in the sun laughing with her family and friends. She loved karaoke and playing with her dogs.

In addition to her husband, Liz is survived by her children Maria Milano and Gavin MacGillivray, both of Brockton. She was the sister of Donald, Jane, Jeff and Maggie Medellin. She also leaves many nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be held on Friday, July 26, 2024 at the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street, (Rte 123) Brockton from 2-4 pm with a Prayer Service at 4pm.
