Elizabeth A. (Packard) Lowell, age 70, of Newport, RI passed away Monday, August 8, 2022 at Maplewood - Mayflower Place in West Yarmouth after a long battle with breast cancer. Elizabeth fought this disease valiantly with courage, dignity and grace. She was the daughter of the late Frederick A. and Dorothy M. Packard of Brockton. Elizabeth was raised in Brockton and graduated from Brockton High School in 1970. She raised her two children in Easton and had a career as a medical records coder. Betty (as she was known to friends and family) praised the Lord and drew strength from her faith. She loved her family, grandchildren, camping, traveling and the beach. She traveled to Europe, Alaska and many destinations in the US. Her favorite place was the Grand Canyon. Elizabeth lived in Florida for 6 years where she enjoyed the weather and camping trips with her sister Carole. Elizabeth made wonderful supportive friends from her church family at Christ Community Church in Tarpon Springs, FL. She returned to MA 3 years ago and spent much time with her sister Milly and brother Richard continuing her adventures in Cape Cod. She leaves her sons, James Spearin and his wife Erika of Norfolk, VA and Joseph Spearin and his wife Elizabeth of Raynham; siblings Mildred R. Yuscavitch and her husband David of Plymouth, Richard F. Packard and his wife Sharon of Sandwich and Carole M. Upham and her husband David of Pelham, NH (formally of New Port Richey, FL); grandchildren Christopher Spearin, of Lynchburg, VA, Jacob Spearin and Noah Spearin of Raynham. Elizabeth leaves many cousins, nieces and nephews who she loved very much. A funeral service will be held on Monday, August 15th at 11:00 AM in the Russell & Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St.,(Rt.123) Brockton. Interment will follow in Melrose Cemetery, Brockton.
