Ellen P. (Joyce) Vellios, 87, of Brockton, passed away Tuesday, February 18, 2025 at the Brockton Hospital. She was the wife of the late William A. "Tony" Vellios.

Born February 8, 1938 in Boston, she was the daughter of the late Festus Joyce and Ellen (Reilly) Joyce. Raised in Boston, she attended Boston Schools.

Ellen worked at the Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton for several years.

Ellen was a devout catholic and was a communicant of St. Patrick Church for many years. She enjoyed reading and volunteered her time to the Brockton Public Library. She and her husband enjoyed traveling, she most especially enjoyed spending with her family.

She is survived by her sons, William A. Vellios and Patrick F. Vellios and his wife Shannon; her grandchildren, Kaila M. Duff, Brooklynn M. Vellios and Joseph M. Shea; her siblings. Richard Joyce and his wife Susan, Mary Carter and her husband Jim and Kathy Brown and her husband Larry. She was the sister of the late John Joyce, Frank Joyce, Tom Joyce and Anne Joyce.

Funeral from the Russell & Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St., (Rt123) Brockton on Tuesday, February 25th at 9:30AM thence to St. Edith Stein Church, 71 East Main St., Brockton where a funeral mass will be celebrated for the repose of her soul at 10:30AM. Interment will follow in Melrose Cemetery, Brockton. Calling hours Monday from 3:00PM-6:00PM. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.
