Obituary

Ellis N. Shaheen, 73, of Brockton, died January 4, 2011. Born and raised in Hammond, LA, he was the son of the late Gabriel and Margaret (Sharbil) Shaheen, and at the age of 15 moved to Massachusetts. Ellis had been employed in the trucking industry for several years and been self employed in the transportation industry for many years.

His dream as a young man was to become a professional baseball player, but he was married at a young age, had five wonderful children and devoted his time to his family. He was a compassionate man, an animal lover, especially his dogs and horses, loved sports and taking long distance drives.

He is survived by two sons Joseph Shaheen and Ellis Shaheen, Jr., three daughters Frances and Nancy Shaheen and Patricia Spaur; a grandson Kyle Shaheen and two sisters Yvonne Donelson and Rose Marie Valls.

Visitation will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Friday 7:30-8:30am with a Funeral Mass in Our Lady of Lourdes Church at 9am. Burial in Mt. Benedict Cemetery.
