Emilio R. Cerci, 84, passed away Thursday September 8, 2016 at the Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton.
Born September 8, 1932 in Brockton he was the son of the late Anthony and Mary (Famularo) Cerci.
He was a graduate of Brockton High School and was a member of the 1951 Championship Football team that went to the Orange Bowl. Emilio received a football scholarship from Boston University where he studied to become a physical therapist. Following his graduation from B.U. he was employed by the Brockton Hospital where he became chief of the physical therapy department. He also worked for the Braemoor nursing home and several other nursing homes in the Brockton area as well as helping private patients at home. He worked full time as a physical therapist for over forty five years in the Brockton area into his late seventies. Emilio was also the co-owner of the former Melios Restaurant in Norton. He will be missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by a son, Scott Cerci of Easton; three grandchildren, Emilie Kate Cerci, Emilio Maxwell Cerci and Reagan Elaine Cerci; a great grandson, Alexander Francis Copsetta Cerci. He was the husband of the late Elaine (Glenn) Cerci, father of the late Gail Cerci, grandfather of the late Benjamin Anthony Fitzgerald and brother of the late Mary Grace Shaw.
Funeral Information
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 15, 2016 at 10:00AM in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Westboro. Calling hours Wednesday from 5:00 to 8:00PM.
