Online Obituaries Ermelinda D. DePina, 91, of Brockton, passed away on Wednesday, February 12, 2014 at her home under the care of her family and hospice after a period of failing health. She was the wife of Mateus A. DePina Born on October 2, 1922 in Calheta, Santiago, Cape Verde she was a daughter of the late Avelino Gomes Fernandes and Idalina (Barros) Fernandes. Ermelinda was a devoted house wife. In addition to her husband she is survived by her children, Maria Nunes and her husband Jose Gonsalves, Fernando DePina and his wife Maria DePina, Roque DePina and his wife Filomena Fernandes, Maria Alves and her husband Marcelino Alves, Maria Mendonca and her husband Rui Abibe, Maria Silva and her husband Henrique Silva, Maria Chantre and her husband Vicente Chantre, her daughter-in-law Maria Francisca DePina. Ermelinda's only surviving sibling is her sister, Fernanda Cortez. She is also survived by countless grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Funeral Information Funeral from the Russell & Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St., Brockton on Saturday, February 15, 2014 at 8:00AM followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Edith Stein/ St. Edward Parish, 71 East Main St., Brockton at 9:00AM. Interment will follow in Melrose Cemetery, Brockton. Calling hours will be held on Friday from 4:00PM 9:00PM in the Funeral Home.
