Obituary

Esther M. (Torrence) Crum Esther Mae (Torrence) Crum, 87, of Brockton died Thursday, May 28, 2009 at Brigham and Women's Hospital of Boston. She was the loving wife of the late Frank Crum, Jr. Born August 23, 1921 in Brockton, she was the daughter of the late Albert B. Torrence and Ira Esther (Stewart) Torrence. Esther was a retired registered nurse. She was a very active member of the Lincoln Congregational Church, the Ku-Lani Klub, the N.A.A.C.P., NARFE, the Urban League Guild, and the Brockton Council on Aging to name just a few. She is survived by her daughter, Yvonne (Crump) Winston; her five grandchildren, Christopher A. Winston, Michael T. Winston, Kyle T. Winston, Johnathan M.Winston, and Joshua R.M. Winston; her eight great-grandchildren, Tiara, Jazmin, Janae, Stephen, Joshua, Jr., Sydney, Damaria, and Raegina. She is also survived by her three godchildren, Jacquelyn, Derek and Thomas and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late, Ruth L. Torrence Wooten, James L .Torrence, Albert D. Torrence, Barrent Torrence, and Robert H. Torrence. Funeral Information A funeral service will be held in the Lighthouse of Faith in Christ Jesus Church (housed in the Central United Methodist Church) 65 West Elm St., Brockton on Tuesday at 10:00AM. Interment will follow in Melrose Cemetery, Brockton. Calling hours in the Russell Pica Funeral Home on Monday 4-8PM.
