Everton Morris Johnson Everton Morris Johnson , 83, of Holbrook, passed away Saturday, April 25, 2015 at his home. He was the husband of Rev. Dayan (Duarte) Johnson. Born July 31, 1931 in Cambridge, he was the son of the late Everton C. Johnson and Eugenie H. (Morris) Johnson. Raised in Cambridge, he attended Cambridge Latin High School, Northeastern University, and Massasoit Community College. He served honorably as a Staff Sergeant in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. Everton worked for the Treasury Department, and the United States Postal Service in Back Bay, Boston; representing 40 years of government service. Evertons dedication and big heart for community service culminated in cofounding The Lighthouse Of Faith In Christ Jesus in Brockton. He was ordained as the Lighthouses First Deacon on March 7, 2004. Everton loved sports, was an avid Red Sox enthusiast, enjoyed riding his bicycle, and loved jazz. He was a health proponent and certified nutritionist. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Dr. Yvette Johnson; his former wife, Yvonne Lee Johnson; extended family, David Dorsey, Elisabeth Dorsey, and Emily Ortiz-Dorsey; his siblings, Curtis Thompson, Norma Booker, Leonard Johnson, Owen Johnson, and Stanley Johnson; his grandchildren, Jane Rimson, Darkeem Kelow, Kai Burgess, Ayanna Burgess, and Nakia Johnson; and his great-granddaughter, Autumn Rimson. He was also the father of the late Fonda Johnson and Gregory Johnson; and was the brother of the late Elaine Dodson, Olga Johnson and Kenneth Johnson. Funeral Information A funeral service will be held in The Lighthouse of Faith in Christ Jesus, 65 West Elm St., Brockton on Friday, May 1, 2015 at 10:00AM. Interment with Military Honors will follow in the VA National Cemetery, Bourne at 12:45PM. Calling hours will be prior to the service on Friday from 8:00-10:00AM in the church.
