Filipe Galvao, 85, of Brockton, passed away at Beth Israel Deaconess in Boston on Monday, July 22, 2019. He was the husband of Maria C. (Goncalves) Galvao. Born on February 11, 1934, in Fogo, Cape Verde, he was the son of the late Branco Galvao and the late Josefa (Soares-Rosa) Galvao. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Lizita Monteiro, Josefa Gomes, Maria A. Galvao, Sal Galvao, Sara Galvao and her husband Jose Pina, Laura Galvao, Orlando Galvao, and Filipe Galvao, Jr.; 22 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 27th at 9:00AM in the Russell & Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St., (Rt.123) Brockton. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Brockton.
