Florence Irene (Briggs) Rea Florence Irene (Briggs) Rea , 89, of Norton and formerly of Brockton, passed away at Epoch of Norton on Sunday, April 17, 2011 after a short period of failing health. She was the wife of the late Guido Rea. Born May 6, 1921 in Rockland, she was the daughter of the late George W. Briggs and Edith (Herbert) Briggs. Raised in Abington, she graduated from Abington High School. Mrs. Rea was a Clerk at Smith Corset Shop in Brockton for many years. She was devoted to her family and her pets. She has been a Norton resident for the last 3 years living with her daughter and family. She had been a Brockton and Florida resident for many years. She is survived by her children, Marilyn Rea and her husband David of Norton and Pamela Forbes of Bridgewater; her grandchildren, Heather Ann Boyle and her husband Brian of Seekonk and Holly Marie Forbes of RI. She was the sister of the late Herbert, Lawrence and George Briggs. Funeral Information Following cremation, a Memorial gathering will be held in the Russell Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St., (Rt123) Brockton on Friday from 10:00-11:00AM followed by a prayer service at 11:00AM. Interment will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery, West Bridgewater.
