Florencio Fontes, 66, of Riverside, Rhode Island and formerly of Brockton, passed away Friday, December 14, 2018. He was the husband of Helena (Silveira) Fontes. Born January 23, 1952 in Fogo, Cape Verde, he was the son of the late Andre Fontes and Luisa (Pires) Fontes. Florencio was a Baker for many years and enjoyed fishing, watching soccer games and riding his bike. He is survived by his wife Helena (Silveira) Fontes; his children, Lenine Fontes, Andreia Alves, Paulo Fontes and Joaquim Fontes; his grandchildren, Jayden Alves, Nylah Alves, Kiana Fontes, Alajuah Fontes, Izeya Fontes and Jayda Fontes; his brothers, Joaquim Fontes and Vericio Fontes; he is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Aurora Fontes. Funeral from the Russell & Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St., (Rt123) Brockton on Wednesday at 10:00AM followed by a funeral mass in St. Edith Stein Parish, 71 East Main St., Brockton at 11:00AM.
