Obituary

Forrest E. Barber, age 99, of West Bridgewater, formerly of Brockton, died on November 15, 2015 at Atrium Memory Care at Drum Hill in North Chelmsford. He was the husband of the late Jacqueline A. (Nadeau) Barber. Born and raised in Taunton, he was the son of the late Forrest B. and Catherine (Dempsey) Barber. Forrest was a graduate of Taunton High School. He was employed as the foreman of a bakery route in Taunton, MA, and a machinist at Brown & Sharpe in Providence, RI. For 33 years, he was a self-employed auto mechanic and operated Barber’s Motor Tune-Up in Brockton, retiring in 1979. He enjoyed interacting with people, telling stories, health and fitness, gardening, baking, and his many beloved dogs.
Forrest is survived by two daughters Jacqueline Jablonski and her husband Paul of Naperville, IL and Roxanne Madonna and her husband Albert of Tyngsboro; two grandchildren Gabriel and Grace Madonna; son-in-law Michael Kosiba and niece Carol Lacerda. Forrest is also survived by many other nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Catherine Barber, brother of the late Orlando Barber, Evelyn Barber and Edna Trucchi, and uncle of the late Richard Trucchi.
Visitation will be held at the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton on Saturday November 21, from 10-11am with a service to follow at 11am.
