IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Francesca
Davoli
April 10, 1928 – January 19, 2024
Francesca (Pileggi) Davoli, known affectionately as "Nonna" and "Cecchina" to those close to her, passed away on Friday, January 19, 2024. Born in Sambiase, Calabria, Italy, she brought warmth and love into the lives of all who knew her.
Francesca, alongside her late husband Antonio Davoli, embarked on a journey of migration that led them to Canada in 1962 and eventually settling in America in 1968. She leaves behind a legacy of love and a family deeply grateful for her presence.
Survived by her devoted son Francesco Davoli, his three sons Mauro (and his fiancé Colleen), Gianfranco (and his wife Niza, along with their children Lucia and Francesco), and Antonio (and his wife Jennifer, with their son Luca). Francesca's love extended across generations.
An extraordinary woman, Francesca was characterized by her brightness, patience, and unwavering kindness. Always singing and sharing stories, she had a heart as soft as it was unyielding, touching the lives of many. Her grandchildren were her "zucchero e miele" – sugar and honey in Italian – a testament to the sweet and endearing nature she brought to their lives.
With an insatiable sweet tooth and a love for espresso, Francesca's fond memories include time spent in the cape with family, where her laughter echoed in the hearts of those around her. Her resilience and strong will to live serve as an inspiration to all who knew her.
Francesca is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews spanning Italy, Canada, and America. May her soul rest in peace, and may her life be a perpetual reminder to live fully and wholly with our hearts.
She was a devoted Catholic. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Brockton. Calling hours in the Russell & Pica Funeral Home on Tuesday 4:00-7:00PM.
