Francesco "Frank" Macrina, 84, of Plymouth and formerly of Brockton, passed away Friday, December 27, 2019 at the South Shore Hospital. He was the loving husband of Rosa Macrina.
Born June 5, 1935 in Gasperina, Italy. He was the son of the late Saverio Macrina and Marie (Catrambone) Macrina. Growing up Frank was a Tailor with his two brothers, Nick and Tony, in his hometown.
Frank was a Tailor in the Brockton area for many years and it was evident in his own clothing style. He worked for Kennedy's clothing store where he made many lifelong friends. When Kennedy's closed, Frank opened his own tailor shop where many of his former customers followed.
In addition to his wife Rosa, he is survived by his children, MaryAnn Macrina of Boston and Anthony Macrina and his wife Joyce of Carver; his grandchildren, A.J. Macrina, Alex Macrina and Dominic Macrina; he is also survived by his brother-in-law, Vincent Macrina and his wife Geraldine of Bridgewater, and their children Marc and Lia, also his nephew Anthony Macrina of Philadelphia, and Saverino Macrina and Anna Maria Aversa of Italy.
Frank had a love for music which started at a young age as a clarinet player in the famous Gasperina town band. His love of music continued through the years listening to classical and opera music, but his favorites were Italian marches.
Frank loved soccer, gardening, landscaping, and taking care of his yard. His home was lined with colorful flowers that many stopped to admire. Frank also enjoyed cooking Italian food for his family, and spending time with them at the dinner table.
One of Frank's favorite places to eat was at the Lobster Hut overlooking Plymouth Harbor with his wife and daughter.
Calling hours in the Russell & Pica Funeral Home, 441 South Main St., (Rt28) West Bridgewater on Thursday, January 2nd from 9:00-11:00AM followed by a funeral service in the funeral home at 11:00AM. Interment will follow in Melrose Cemetery, Brockton.
