Murphy of Brockton, August 21, 2003, Francis J. “Frank” Murphy, Jr., 80 years. Husband of the late Ellen L. (Brown) Murphy. Brother of the late Nancy O’Connell.

Funeral from the J. Frank Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) BrocktonWednesday at 8 am. Funeral Mass in Our Lady of Lourdes Church at 9 am. Burial in St. Thomas Aquinas Cemetery, Bridgewater. Visiting hours are omitted.

Obituary

Mr. Murphy died unexpectedly Thursday at Caritas Good Samaritan Medical Center, Brockton. He was born in Brockton, son of the late Francis J. and Theresa (Whitten) Murphy. He had been a longtime resident of Brockton and West Bridgewater. He was a graduate of Brockton High School, class of 1940, and served on his Class Reunion Committee, also a graduate of Tufts University, class of 1944. For many years he worked with Quinn Freight in Brockton, he then was a salesman at Standish Chevrolet in Plymouth. During WWII he served in the US Army. He was a member of the Plymouth Country Club.

Mr. Murphy is survived by two nephews, Brian O’Connell and Neal O’Connell, two nieces, Mary O’Connell and Kathleen Torinio all of Southern California

He was the husband of the late Ellen L. (Brown) Murphy and brother of the late Nancy O’Connell.
