Lakeville -Francis Joseph Maynard, 89 years , formerly of Brockton April 12, 2008 Loving husband for 66 years to Lucille J. (Pigeon) Maynard. “Rabbit” is survived by Jean Francois and his wife Pat of Westwood; David and his wife Rita of Brockton; Dianne Reardon of Tiverton, RI and Thomas and his wife Betty of Lakeville. “Pepere`” to 17 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren. Brother of Larry Small and his wife Jeannette of Bridgewater and the late Irene L. Small formerly of Brockton. Son of the late Germaine (Lussier) Maynard-Small and William A. Maynard. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and a dedicated friend, Paul Waters of Brockton.

Francis was a machinist and tool maker for over forty years with the former Ward Machine Company and Proprietor of the Hilltop Gardens as a florist. He loved flowers, gardening, and his annual trips with his wife to Hawaii, hunting, fishing, bowling and was an avid numismatist. He was one of the original founders and long-time member and past President of the East Side Improvement Association. He was a 1936 graduate of Brockton High School, past Treasurer and enjoyed working on his class reunions. He was a life time member of the American Society of Tool and Mechanical Engineers and a member of the Samoset Rod & Gun Club in E. Bridgewater.

Funeral from the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Wednesday at 9AM followed by a funeral mass in Christ The King Parish/ St. Colman Church at 10AM. Burial in Calvary Cemetery. Visiting hours Tuesday 4-8PM.
