Frederick Paul "Beau" Giovanoni joined family and friends in heaven on February 11, 2022. He passed peacefully with his family by his side.
Beau was born in East Bridgewater on August 29, 1939 to Emma "Batti" and Frederick H. Giovanoni.
He graduated from East Bridgewater High School and enlisted in the United States Navy, serving on the USS Essex and the USS Lake Champlain. On his 26th birthday, his ship recovered the Gemini V crewed NASA space flight with Astronauts Conrad and Cooper after its splash down in the Atlantic Ocean. He was a member of Boynton Beach American Legion Post 164. As owner of the Campello Arco service station, he owned the area's first Land Rover franchise. While in the Navy he trained as a firefighter and was a call firefighter for more than 15 years with the West Bridgewater Fire Department. He was ahead of times as he customized and "tricked out" trucks, jeeps, and sport utility vehicles. An expert welder, he always got the part to fit. Upon retirement from FP Giovanoni Merchandising he became a snow bird splitting his time between Bourne, MA and South Florida. His love for boats and all things nautical allowed him to work as a Yacht Broker in Florida and Massachusetts in his retirement years. He was well known for his perfectly manicured lawn and campsite at Bourne Scenic Park, where he was a seasonal camper for more than 50 years.
Beau is survived by his wife of 59 years, Annette "Braga" Giovanoni, daughter Kelly Souza and her husband Scott of Bridgewater, daughter Lynn Brown and her husband Dennis, of Burns, Tennessee, and son Brian Giovanoni and his wife Marla, of Middleboro, MA. He was loved and greatly admired by his grandchildren, Timothy Souza and his wife Abby, Zachary Souza, Paul and Julia Giovanoni, and Justin and Taylen Brown. Beau also leaves a sister Adoreen "Renie" Swanson of Smithtown, Long Island, New York and was the sister of the late Barbara Tamigini.
