Obituary

Gabriel "Gabe" DeIuliis, 93, of Brockton, passed away peacefully on April 16, 2023.

Gabe was the beloved husband of his late wife of more than 50 years, Eva DeIuliis. After 20 years apart, the family takes great comfort in knowing that they are reunited with the lord.

Gabe was a plasterer for many years before becoming a union mason and later establishing his own masonry company. It was here that he taught his sons and grandsons the skills of a mason.

Gabe was a Union mason for many years before establishing his own masonry company where he taught his sons and grandsons the trade.

He will be remembered as a fiery man with an amazing sense of humor. He was passionate about his garden, prominently displayed on Grove Street since 1952, where he harvested the most enormous and tasty tomatoes that friends and family fondly looked forward to each season. He was an avid hunter and fisherman who also enjoyed playing bocce. Gabe maintained a fine quality of life enjoying his hobbies right up until the very end of his 93 years, shooting his new gun and socializing with fellow members at the local gun club and nimbly tying fishing knots at his kitchen table.

As much as he enjoyed his many hobbies, they were no competition for his love for his family. His children and grandchildren were the highlight of his life as were the many family gatherings around the kitchen tables at his homes in Brockton and on Cape Cod in Dennis Port. He loved his family truly and deeply, and although like so many men of his age and background, he wasn't always an expert at showing it, those closest to him always knew that he would do anything for them.

Gabe is survived by his children Peter DeIuliis, Michael DeIuliis, Dennis and wife Gael DeIuliis; grandchildren Peter and wife Charleen, Matthew, Christopher and wife Christina, Nicholas, Shane, Bradley and wife Jordan, and Rachael; and a growing number of great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife Eva, his daughter-in-law Catherine, and his grandson (and namesake) Gabriel.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, April 24th in the Russell & Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St., (Rt.123) Brockton at 10:00 AM followed by interment in Calvary Cemetery, Brockton. Calling hours on Sunday, April 23rd from 1:00-4:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Gabe's name to the Seasons Hospice Foundation/Accent Care Hospice Foundation, 8537 Solution Center, Chicago, IL 60677.
