*Masks will be required in the funeral home* Gail M. (Spink) Alden, 74, of Brockton passed away on Wednesday, January 12, 2022 at 7:31 AM at the Signature Healthcare Brockton Hospital. Born on September 8, 1947 in Quincy, she was the daughter of Dorothy M. (Pedretti) Spink and the late Raymond Spink. She graduated from Southeastern Technical Institute as a medical assistant in 1983. Gail retired from the Department of Mental Health in the Crisis Unit. Gail loved spending time with her children and family and going on fieldtrips with her daughter and grandchildren. Her love for her children and grandchildren was beyond measure. Her favorite holiday was Christmas, and no one celebrated it like she did- she shopped all year to make sure that she picked out the perfect gift for every single person and shopped for items that would bring her family joy. She enjoyed working with her son at It's a Yardsale, and winning treasures on her son's auctions. She loved sunflowers, butterflies, lady bugs, cardinals and cats, leopard print anything and feeding wild cats. Gail will be remembered by her quick-witted humor, her sass, and her contagious laugh- she loved to laugh, especially at her text typos. Gail is survived by her mother, Dorothy Spink; her children, Chris Alden, Kim (Alden) Skeldon and her husband Steven and James Alden; her granddaughters Kylie Skeldon, Savannah Skeldon and Brianna Alden; her brothers, Richard Spink and his wife Ann, Raymond Spink and his wife Eileen and Kenny Spink and his wife Elaine; her sister Judy Foley and her husband Bill; her goddaughter and niece Kerry Lynn Schunder and her husband Michael; and her nieces and nephews Carly, Sami, Tory, Cody and Brooklyn. Visiting hours will be held in the Russell & Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St., (Rt. 123) Brockton on Tuesday, January 18th from 4:00-8:00 PM. A prayer service will be held at 7:00 PM Gail's family will be providing leopard print masks.
