Gary Crosby, Sr., 64, of Brockton, passed away on Sunday, December 19, 2021.
On May 21, 1957, Gary Crosby, Sr. was the ninth child born to the late Arlan and Jeanette (Barnett) Crosby in Boston, MA. He departed this life on December 19, 2021, at the age of 64. Gary was the loving husband of the late Robin Crosby.
Gary grew up in Boston, MA with his 8 brothers and 1 sister. He attended High School in Boston, MA and went on to join the Iron Workers Apprenticeship Program where he became a certified Journeyman and was eventually employed through the Iron Workers Local 7 as a Welder until his retirement in 1997.
Gary met his first wife, Aquilla (Pinky) McPherson. They were married in 1976, and out of that union, they have one child, Gary Crosby Jr., whom he loved dearly.
Gary was known for being considerate, kind, compassionate, and generous, especially towards those in need. He was also funny, humorous, and labeled the family jokester. Gary would carry out stunts as a young child such as climbing on top of the refrigerator with a make-shift cape attached to his neck and jumping off with hopes that he would soar like super-man, but instead, he landed in the middle of the kitchen floor only to be yelled at by his mother. This fun-loving energy remained throughout his adulthood, which made people want to be in his presence. He loved to host family gatherings and cookouts. and would often have many of his nephews and nieces stay overnight for a sleepover. Gary enjoyed fishing with his son, shopping with his family, and riding his motorcycle. The love he carried in his heart for his entire family will remain forever.
Gary leaves behind to cherish his memories his beloved son, Gary Crosby Jr., siblings: Arlan (Bobby) Crosby Jr. of Dorchester, MA; Arthur Crosby and his wife Ruby of MS; Horace (Tony) Crosby and his wife Margaret of CA; Delmar (Duke) Crosby and his wife Lodia of GA; Dwight Crosby of GA; Lawrence Crosby and his wife Karen of MA; Ann Crosby-Smith and the late James Smith of MS; Stanley Crosby and his wife Patricia of MA; and Terrence Crosby of MA. He also leaves behind countless nieces, nephews, and friends, and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Calling hours in the Russell & Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St., (Rt123) Brockton on Wednesday, January 5th from 9:00-10:30 AM followed by a funeral service in the funeral home at 10:30 AM. Interment will follow in Melrose Cemetery, Brockton.
