Obituary

Gayle A. Cotter age 63 of Brockton passed peacefully in her sleep Monday January 8, 2018 after a two year battle with cancer. Gayle was born in Boston a daughter of the late William and Mary (Mackin) Cotter and was raised in Brockton.

A 1972 graduate of Brockton High School, she received her BS in Nursing from Catherine Laboure School of Nursing and worked for many years as a registered nurse at Brigham & Women’s Hospital.

Gayle loved the beach and Cape Cod, anything Irish and was a staunch supporter of John F. Kennedy. She enjoyed reading and her several pets who were like her babies. A master story teller, known for her amazing sense of humor, charisma and her ability to light up a room.

Gayle is survived by her sister Janet (Cotter) Yannone of Brockton and was the aunt of Nicole, Nathaniel and Narvey Sims Jr., Tom Yannone and Jacqueline Madan.

A Celebration of Gayle’s Life will be held on Saturday, January 13th at 6 pm at the Brockton Country Club, 265 Samuel Ave. Brockton, MA. 02301. Donations in Gayle’s memory may be made to the Animal Protection Center 1300 West Elm Street Ext. Brockton, MA 02301.
