George Bandas, 83, of Norfolk and formerly of Brockton, passed away Thursday, March 15, 2012 at the Newton Welleslley Hospital after a lengthy illness. He was the husband of the late Katherine (Theodossiou) Bandas. Born in Alexandria, Egypt, he was the son of the late Dimitri and Athena Bandas. George was retired form the Polaroid Corporation in Waltham after working there for 30 years. He was a member of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church in Brockton. He has been a Norfolk resident since moving in with his daughter and son-in- law in 1998. He most enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He is survived by his daughter, Athena "Tina" Roan and her husband Michael; his grandchildren, Elyse, Alex and Dana Roan; his siblings, Nick Bandas, Cosmas Bandas and Mary Zantides; he is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Funeral Information Funeral from the Russell Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St., Brockton on Tuesday, March 20th at 9:00AM followed by a funeral service in the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 457 Oak St., Brockton at 10:00AM.
