Online Obituaries George Joseph Joey Best, 51, of Brockton, passed away Saturday, September 10, 2016 at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston. He was the beloved husband of Marylou (Piantoni) Best. Born July 3, 1965 in Norwood he was the son of Mary F. (Fritsch) Best and the late George J. Best. Raised in Bridgewater, he graduated from Bridgewater-Raynham High School in 1983 where he enjoyed swimming and playing soccer. George worked at Contract Glass Service, Inc. in Billerica as a Plant Manager. George was very active in the Special Olympics and coached the Brockton Bulldogs. He was an avid fan of the New England Patriots and Boston Bruins. He especially enjoyed boating, spending time at Peters Pond, tinkering with projects and being a handyman to fix all types of items and old time rock and roll music. He was a member of the Brockton Enterprise Club. He is survived by his wife, Marylou (Piantoni) Best; his children, Erin L. Best and Erik J. Best all of Brockton; his mother, Mary F. (Fritsch) Best; his sisters, Jennifer L. Modica and her husband Stephen of Uxbridge, Amanda G. Best of Attleboro, Caroline M. Cyr and her husband Gary of Tyngsborough and Valerie E. Bartholomew and her husband Keith of Abington, his mother-in-law, Sandra Piantoni of Brockton; his brother-in-law, Michael Piantoni and his wife Carrie of Brockton; his God-Children, Samantha Modica, Michelle Cyr and Elizabeth Bartholomew; step-son of William E. Crawford; step-brother of Joshua Crawford and Timothy Crawford; he is also survived by several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. He was the son-in-law of the late Stephen J. Piantoni. Funeral Information Funeral services will be held in the Russell & Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St., (Rt123) BROCKTON on Saturday, September 17th at 12:00PM. Cremation will follow. Calling hours in the Russell & Pica Funeral Home on Friday from 4:00-8:00PM.
