George J. Bloumbas, 95, of Brockton, passed away peacefully Monday, June 28, 2021 at his home under the care of his family after a brief period of failing health. He was the husband of the late Haido (Taxos) Bloumbas.
Born in Evangelismos, Ellasona, Greece on February 8, 1926, he was the son of the late John and Zoe (Tousia) Bloumbas.
George was a cabinet maker and worked for Wood Hu Kitchens for 30 years and A & B Tanning Corp for 15 years.
He was also actively involved helping his sons with their family business, Blooms Pizza in West Bridgewater for 25 years.
A member of AHEPA and the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church in Brockton, George loved spending time with his family, enjoyed the outdoors, gardening and Greek dancing, and he enjoyed holidays and celebrations. His home was always open for family and friends celebrating with food and beverages. He also enjoyed watching westerns.
George treasured his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and loved his role as Papou.
He will be remembered for his bright smile, caring heart and unconditional love.
He is survived by his children Ann Siamantouras of Brockton, Kostas Bloumbas and his wife Diane of Raynham and James Bloumbas and his wife Debbie of Middleboro; his grandchildren Evan Siamantouras and his wife Debby, George Siamantouras, Jimmy Bloumbas, Kristin Bloumbas, Nick Bloumbas and Haidee Bloumbas; his great-grandchildren Antonios Siamantouras, Demetra Siamantouras and Anastassia Siamantouras; his siblings Andreas Bloumbas, Evangeline Vakoftsis, Fedra Gougouloulis, Chrisoula Kazakis and the late Hariklia Kazakis of Greece; and many, many nieces and nephews.
Our hearts are heavy; we will celebrate his life and find comfort that he is in Heaven watching over us and reunited with his loved ones.
Calling hours in the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 457 Oak St., Brockton on Tuesday, July 6th from 10:00-11:00AM followed by a funeral service in the church at 11:00AM. Interment will follow in Melrose Cemetery, Brockton.
In lieu of flowers, donations in George's memory may be made to the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, Brockton.
