George P. Costa George P. Costa , 67, of Stoughton, died peacefully on Saturday, February 25, 2012 at the Good Samaritan Medical Center surrounded by his loving wife and family. He was the beloved husband of Maria B. Costa. They were married for 42 years. Born on November 28, 1944 in Brava, Cape Verde he was a son of the late Joaquim and Maria DaCosta. George, known as "Baba" by his family came to the U.S. on June 2, 1963. He worked as a supervisor at the Columbia Tanning in Brockton for 31 years. George enjoyed fishing, playing his ukulele, playing soccer, card games and spending time with his family. He is survived by his loving wife, Maria B. Costa; his two daughters, Susan Riley and her husband Marcellus of Taunton and Elaine Costa of Brockton; his grandchildren, Anthony, Dalisa, Erick, Mariah and Soriyah Costa, Marcellus, Iyanna and Seyena Riley; his siblings, Jose Goncalves, Autilio DaCosta, James DaCosta, Domingas Penha, Eugenia DaCosta all of Brockton, John DaCosta of Bridgewater, Manuel DaCosta, Lidia Almeida, Amelia Fortes all of East Bridgewater, Deolinda Baptista of Fall River and Maria Tourinho of Taunton. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was the grandfather of the late Shawn Costa. Funeral Information Funeral from the Russell Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St., (RT123), Brockton on Wednesday, February 29, 2012 at 9:00AM followed by a funeral service at the First Church of Nazarene, 89 North Pearl St., Brockton at 10:00AM. Interment will follow in Melrose Cemetery, Brockton. Calling hours on Tuesday, February 28, 2012 from 4:00-8:00PM.
