Hill, Jr.

George A. Hill, Jr., 83, of Bridgewater passed away Sunday, February 5, 2023 at the Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton.
Born November 15, 1939 in Boston, MA he was the son of the late Jane E. (Pothier) Hill of Nova Scotia, Canada and the late George A. Hill, Sr of Seaford Delaware.
George is survived by his wife of 50 years, Janice A. (Striplin) Hill; loving father of Robert W. Hill of Weymouth and former Daughter-in-law Brigitte Valerio Torres of Natick, Dannette C. Hill-Canuto of Bridgewater, George A. Hill III of Providence, RI. Grandfather "Grampy" of Alyssa M. Hill Canuto and Annaleise J. Hill. George also leaves behind many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and cousins, two brothers-in-law Robert and Kenneth Striplin and one sister-in-law Virginia (Curtis) Striplin. He was also preceded in death by his best friend and Brother-in-law Anthony "Sonny" J. Freitas, His sisters-in-law Juanita M.(Striplin) Freitas, and Carol A.(Marlin) Striplin and Nephew Anthony "Andy" R. Freitas.
George enlisted in the United States Air Force 1959-1963 and was honorably discharged as a Senior Airman. He then received his bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice at Northeastern University in 1974. He worked for Harvard University for 43 years in which 37 of those were with the Harvard University police department, he retired as a Lieutenant.
He enjoyed watching Fox news and David Muir each night with a bowl of ice cream.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated for the repose of his soul on Tuesday, February 14th at 11:00AM in St. Ann Church, 675 N. Main St., Raynham, MA 02767. Interment will follow in St. Thomas Aquinas Cemetery, 103 Center St., Bridgewater. Calling hours will be prior to the Mass from 10:00AM to 10:45AM IN THE CHURCH. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to The National Kidney Foundation, 209 W. Center Street, Natick, MA 01760 or online at www.kidney.org
