In Loving Memory of George R. Meaden, Jr.

June 4, 1953 – July 28, 2025

With broken hearts, we announce the passing of George R. Meaden, Jr., after a courageous 10-year battle with lung disease. He passed away peacefully at home on July 28, 2025, at the age of 72. He left this world exactly as he wished—surrounded by his adoring family and his loyal companion, Chewy, his beloved dog.

George was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and uncle. George fought his illness with strength, grace, and determination, never losing the kindness, humor, and love that defined his spirit. He faced every day with a smile, remaining the loving, honest, and silly man we all cherished.

Born on June 4, 1953, to the late George Randolph Meaden Sr. and Muriel Meaden, George carried their legacy of love and strength throughout his life. He was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Donna Louise Meaden, and a proud and deeply loving father to his daughters Tara Meaden, Brandy Monteiro, and Nicole Shaw. As well as, his niece Hailey, who was more like his 4th daughter, as she has lived with him since the age of 16.

George is survived by his siblings Donna Cobis, Kenneth Meaden, and Patricia McDonagh, and was predeceased by his sister Karen Donovan and brother Arthur Meaden. He also leaves behind his cherished sons-in-law: Craig Shaw, Francisco Monteiro, and Abner Durocher.

Proud grandfather to his "mini army" of 14 grandchildren: Camren, Xaria, Jordin, Jaylin, Landen, Xoe, Jordan, Michael, Jasmine, Derrick, Madyson, Craig, and Hunter, and is now in spirit with his late grandson Hope. George was also a loving great-grandfather to Axsel, Adrien, and Naomi, who brought him deep joy and pride.

He leaves behind many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins, all of whom were part of his large loving family that treasured.

One of George's greatest sources of pride was being able to purchase a home that became a true sanctuary for his family—a place where multiple generations were raised, loved, and nurtured. His pool and backyard were constant sources of joy, where his family would gather, swim, and play. Even in his later years, George found peace sitting on the porch, watching his grandchildren laugh and grow.

Being a collector, he loved collecting: coins, Beanie Babies, Pogs, baseball cards, comic books, figurines, stamps, and trinkets. Due to his lifelong love of collecting and sharing, he was always up for hunting for treasures. He was affectionately known as "The Toy Man," He shared deep conversations with his grandchildren about baseball, coins, anime, and more—fostering connection and curiosity in each of them.

He was a passionate gamer who played The Legend of Zelda with the commitment of a full-time job. Black Friday shopping was a favorite sport of his—he scoured flyers and hunted for the best deals with unmatched enthusiasm.

George made sure everyone was cared for. His legendary treat closet was always full—for his kids, grandkids, dogs, and cats—and he made certain no one ever left his home hungry. He loved music deeply, embracing life with the free spirit of a true hippie at heart.

A diehard fan of his hometown teams, George proudly supported the New England Patriots, Boston Red Sox, Celtics, and Bruins—and could talk sports with anyone, anytime. He even loved debating sports with his sons-in-laws Francisco and Craig ,grandaughter Madyson , grandson's Michael and Jordan as well as his grandson-n-law Axsel, whom love the Cowboys, Chicago Bulls, NY Giants, Eagles , Lakers, Ravens, and White Sox.

To know George was to love him. His warmth, humor, and generosity left a lasting impact on everyone who met him. Though we are deeply heartbroken, we find peace knowing he passed away in the comfort of his home—the home he built and filled with love—surrounded by those who meant the most to him.

Please keep in your thoughts and prayers his beloved wife, daughters, sons-in-law, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, siblings, nieces, nephews, cousins, and everyone blessed to have known him.
