George Olsen, Jr. George Olsen, Jr. , 72, of Brockton, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, December 9, 2009 at the Signature Healthcare Brockton Hospital. He was the husband of Marie Thellen. Born October 7, 1937 in Portland, Maine, he was the son of the late George Olsen and Frances (Cook) Olsen. Raised in the Bidderford and Saco area, he graduated from Thornton Academy. George served proudly in the National Guard. George was a longtime Retail Manager. He has been a Brockton resident for over 10 years. He enjoyed all sports and was a member of the Christ Congregational Church in Brockton. George was known for his smile, love of life, outgoing personality, and love of his family and his country. He will be greatly missed by all that knew him. He was the loving husband of Marie Thellen; loving father of Guy Olsen, Shelly Courtney, Lori Besegai, Kristy Blundell, and Derek Olsen; proud grandfather of Brenden, Emily, Laura, Ryan, Andrew, Kaela, Sarah, Alanne, Dylan, and Sophia; brother of Jon Olsen and Martha Olsen. Funeral Information **CHANGE OF TIME** **PLEASE INFORM OTHERS OF THE TIME CHANGE** Following cremation, a Memorial Gathering will be held in the Christ Congregational Church, 1350 Pleasant St., Brockton on Saturday, December 12th from 9:00-10:00AM followed by a funeral service at 10:00AM. Interment will be private. The Family will gather in the lower church following the funeral service.
