George S. Persson

George S. Persson, age 82, of Brockton, passed away on August 2, 2026, at the Sachem Center for Health and Rehabilitation. He was the husband of Lois J. (Kurek) Persson.

Born and raised in Brockton, he was the son of the late Helge and Stephanie (Winalski) Persson.

He graduated from Cardinal Spellman High School and worked as a professional landscaper for Massasoit Community College for 20 years, retiring in 2004. Growing up he enjoyed spending time and helping out at his parent’s bakery (Susan’s Pastry Shop).

George enjoyed fishing, hunting, and telling a good story. He had a strong work ethic and loved landscaping for his friends. Most of all, he loved spending time with his wife, daughter, and granddaughter.

Besides his wife Lois, he leaves his daughter Melissa Wenzel and her husband Paul; a sister, Roberta Sulkowski; his granddaughter, Aubrey Wenzel; and a nephew Andrew Sulkowski.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 20, 2026, from 4-6pm, with a funeral service beginning at 5:45 pm, in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte. 123) Brockton.

In lieu of flowers, donations in George’s memory can be made to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
