Online Obituaries George Smiliotopoulos, 72, of Middleboro and formerly of Brockton passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at his home in Middleboro. He was the loving husband of Tina A. (Sarakinos) Smiliotopoulos. Born on March 9, 1943 in Greece, he was a son of the late John Smiliotopoulos and Theoni (Charalambopoulos) Smiliotopoulos. George was raised in Greece and came to the United States to Brockton, MA in 1968, and shortly after, the rest of his family emigrated from Greece to the United States. George is survived by his loving wife of forty-eight years, Tina A. (Sarakinos) Smiliotopoulos; his three daughters, Theoni Riordan of Middleboro, Maria Morrill and her husband John C. Morrill of Bridgewater, and Joanne Connors and her husband Shawn P. Connors of East Bridgewater; his grandchildren, Tina, John, and Christopher Riordan, George and Thomas Morrill, and Olivia Connors; his siblings, Nikoleta Kostopoulos and her husband Kostas, Ilias Smiliotopoulos and his wife Christina, Maria Stamiris and her husband John, and Sofia Lambrakis and her husband James. He is also survived by his several nieces and nephews. George and his brother-in-law Nick Sarras owned Nicks Auto Sales in Brockton together for 30 years. George adored his nurturing wife and daughters and always stated that his grandchildren were his life. He treasured his time with his best friends, his brother-in-law Jimmy from Supreme House of Pizza, his brother-in-law Nick Sarras, his brother Louie and his late brother-in-law, Manny Sarras. George enjoyed his scratch tickets, bowling, fishing, hunting and playing cards with his son-in-laws. George belonged to a Tuesday night bowling league for several years at Timber Lanes Bowling in Abington. He was a big fan of watching the races at the Raynham-Taunton Dog Track and enjoyed watching hockey, football and soccer where he always cheered on his favorite Greek soccer team Olympiakos. George was a member of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church in Brockton. Funeral Information Funeral Service will be held in the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 457 Oak St., Brockton on Tuesday, March 8th at 11:00AM. Interment will follow in the Melrose Cemetery, Brockton. Calling hours in the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, Tuesday from 9:00AM 11:00AM.
