Georgia (Vouros) Pappas passed away peacefully on November 10, 2020. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Andrew. They were married in Newport RI on Sept. 19, 1948. She was the mother of 4 children, Karen Gifford and her husband William of Easton and their children, Michael and Kim, Val Bernier and her husband Tom of Lyndeborough, NH and their children Tara, TJ, and Chris, George Pappas and his wife Marie of Taunton and their children Gregory, Matthew and Daniel, Andrew and Erin, and Andrea Avitabile and her husband John of Brockton and their children Nicole and Kristen. Georgia is also survived by her 17 great-grandchildren Calvin, Nathan, Maddie, Jordan, Dory, Cole, Ryan, Gabe, Ryan, Paige, Ashley, Anna, Nora, Rose, Drew, Myles and Rumie. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews. Georgia was predeceased by her siblings, Florence Diomandes of Newport, RI., Reverend Carl Vouros of New Britain, CT., Charles Vouros of Arlington, Marie Mihos of Easton, and Teresa Sarris of Fl. She was born in Watertown. She lived in Newport, RI., Brockton, and Stoughton where she and her husband owned Andy's Food Mart before retiring in Taunton. Georgia was a loyal Boston sports fan but her heart belonged to the Red Sox. She loved cooking Greek food for her large family and always made sure everyone had their favorite dessert. She loved to sew and spent many hours with her sister, Marie, sewing aprons and other items for the Greek Church Bazaar. Calling hours will be held in the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 457 Oak St., Brockton on Saturday, November 14th from 8:00AM-9:30AM followed by a funeral service in the church at 9:30AM. Interment will follow in Melrose Cemetery, Brockton. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church in Brockton, or Hospice Services of Massachusetts, Lakeville.
