Obituary

Gerald Anthony Bean joined his family and friends in heaven on February 23, 2021. He passed peacefully at home with his children and his wife by his side. Gerald (Jerry) was born in Dorchester, MA on January 15, 1941. His parents, Gerald and Kathleen Bean, later relocated to Rockland. He was the oldest of 14 children. Jerry was a dedicated and extremely hard worker who retired as a Sheet Metal Worker for Local 17 after 35 years. He then became a beloved Custodian for West Bridgewater Public Schools until his second retirement. Jerry was a devout Catholic and a deeply caring and giving person who always made those around him feel loved, cared for, and accepted unconditionally. He had a gentle soul and a big smile and a wonderful sense of humor. He enjoyed spending his time with family, friends, and neighbors and always gave his time and help without hesitation. Gerald was fortunate enough to have had not only one wonderful and loving wife but two in his lifetime. He married Annette Amber on October 23, 1965. They were happily married for 26 years before she passed in 1991. He then met and married Adeline Bean on July 10, 1993, and were wonderful partners who took care of one another and laughed often while enjoying life. Jerry is survived by his biological children, Luann Walsh & husband Michael of San Francisco, CA, Stephen Bean & wife Jacqueline of Middleboro, and Colleen Bleakney & husband Matthew of Barrington, RI as well as his stepchildren Adeline Bois, Marybeth Geisler, the late John McGue & his wife Laurie, Julie Gallant & her husband Todd, and Scott Cennami & his wife Lynette. He was loved greatly and admired by his 18 Grandchildren: Zachary & Lucas Walsh, Nicholas, Alex, Christian & Jason Bean, Max Bleakney, Mandy (Bois) Beatrice, Shawn, Brian & Derek Geisler, Adam, Zachary & Brett McGue, Kylie & Kori Shaw, Alycia Umano & Marissa Cennami as well as his 10 Great Grandchildren: Elliana Bean, Peter & Sera Beatrice, Alexis & Tyler Geisler, Willow & Wyatt Geisler, Conor McGue, and Brynn & Mila Umano. Jerry also leaves his siblings, John, Michael, Kevin, Rosemary, James, Marian, Marie, Rachel, Allen, and Rita. He was predeceased by his siblings Kathleen, Patricia, and Christopher. Calling hours in the Russell & Pica Funeral Home, 441 South Main St., (Rt28) West Bridgewater on Thursday, March 4th from 4:00-6:00PM. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, a private Funeral Mass will be held in St. Ann Church. All visitors will be advised by Funeral Home Staff on what Building Entrance to Use. All visitors will then follow SAFE DISTANCING MARKINGS that will guide to the Casket/Urn. All visitors may pause at Casket/Urn and then EXIT the Funeral Home. All visitors when returning to their cars will please exit the property to allow others to enter. All visitors will be able to greet family members from a safe distance but not able to touch.
