Gerald V. Ortendahl, 87, of Brockton, passed away on Saturday, July 4, 2020. He was the husband of Marjorie J. (Gilmore) Ortendahl. Born on September 13, 1932 in Brockton, he was the son of the late Victor and Margit (Johanson) Ortendahl and was a Brockton High School graduate with the class of 1950. After high school, he served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. Gerald was the owner of Ortendahl's Garage, a family business started in 1926 by his father in Brockton. He enjoyed spending time outdoors fishing, hunting and boating as well as spending time with his family. In addition to his wife Marjorie, Gerald is survived by his children Bob Ortendahl and his wife Patricia and Diane Griffith and her husband Scott; and his grandchildren Brittany Griffith, Danielle Griffith, Kelly Ortendahl, Kendall Griffith and Megan Ortendahl. A private graveside service was held in the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne with full military honors.
