Obituary

Geraldine A. “Gerry” (Holmes) Woodland, age 85 of Bourne, formerly of Brockton, died on December 29, 2021 at the Bourne Manor Rehabilitation Center after a period of failing health. She was the wife for sixty years of the late Loyed S. Woodland, Jr.

Geraldine was born and raised in Brockton, a daughter of the late Charles and Katherine (Durand) Holmes and lived in the city for most of her life. She attended Brockton schools and was a stay at home mother devoted to her family and home.

When her husband Loyed started his new company Woodland Construction Co. and later Pot Hole Medic, Geraldine helped with the bookkeeping and management of the businesses.

Geraldine cherished time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Geraldine was the mother of Loyed S. Woodland, III and his wife Sandy of East Wareham, Lori Woodland of Florida, Brenda Woodland of Florida and the late Terri Woodland. She leaves five grandchildren, several great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Charles Holmes, Jr. and William Holmes.

Graveside services will be held at a later date in the spring.
